火箭戰前變陣！　Josh Smith升至先發盼與魔獸打出默契

5月13日，在火箭主場迎戰快艇的西區準決賽G5開始前，總教練Kevin McHale宣佈變陣，將Terrence Jones降為替補，Josh Smith頂替其出任先發。

火箭在過去兩場比賽裡一共輸給快艇58分，已經走到了1-3落後的絕境。快艇總教練Doc Rivers也曾預測火箭必將做出改變。

Terrence Jones在對快艇的系列賽中發揮非常糟糕，場均僅得到9分4.8籃板，投籃命中率只有36.8%，而過去兩場比賽的正負效率值加起來為-42。

Donatas Motiejunas傷退，火箭大前鋒位置上捉襟見肘。Terrence Jones糟糕，但Josh Smith也好不到哪去。他四場比賽場均僅得6.3分6籃板，投籃命中率低到27.3%。在外線一共只有9投1中，完全找不到籃框。

Josh Smith在上一場比賽更是只得到1分，創了賽季新低，完全沒有存在感。要知道他在首輪場均能得到17.4分，投籃命中率高達51.5%。

但Josh Smith比起Terrence Jones的一個優勢則是他與Dwight Howard能夠打出配合。在首輪對小牛的比賽中，他就曾多次與魔獸完成空中接力，打出了極為良好的化學反應。

火箭在西區準決賽的狀態與首輪大相徑庭，進攻不復以往犀利，防守更是完全崩潰。如今Kevin McHale在絕境之下變陣，也不知能否來得及挽救球隊的傾頹之勢。
